Thrift Studio’s Home Decor Pop-up

Dwell with Dignity, a Dallas-based nonprofit on a mission to transform lives through design by providing and installing interiors for family homes and community spaces, announces today it will be launching the first-ever Social Impact Marketplace at its annual fundraiser event, Thrift Studio. On select Saturdays, the Marketplace will feature a different local nonprofit and provide a space within Thrift Studio for them to sell their products. All proceeds will benefit the nonprofits directly, helping them secure critical funding and increase awareness for their organizations.

Thrift Studio is in its 12th year. The highly-anticipated month-long pop-up will take place from August 26 through September 24. The 10,000-square-foot retail space in the Design District will be open to the public and free to enter.

Dates:

  • Preview Party: Thursday, August 25 / 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tickets on sale for $175.

  • General admission: August 26 – September 24 / Tuesday-Saturday / 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

  • Address: 1506 Market Center Blvd, Dallas, TX 75207

  • Website: https://www.thriftstudio.com/

The nonprofits that will be featured at the Marketplace include:

  • September 3: The Worthy Co, The Net’s social enterprise retail site that empowers women survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction, will offer a wide selection of cause-driven goods like apparel, home goods, jewelry, and more. 100% of every purchase will provide dignified and sustainable employment for survivors of trafficking at The Worth Co.

  • September 10: The Welman Project, which serves as a free resource, distributing surplus materials from local companies for creative reuse in the classroom and beyond, will be offering collage packs with vintage ephemera, kits for little makers to dream big, and repurposed objects redesigned for unique home decor. The packs will support waste reduction in Dallas-Fort Worth and free supplies for teachers.

  • September 17:

    • My Possibilities, the leader in vocational education for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in North Texas, will feature natural home and body care products from Soap Hope. Soap Hope trains, employs, and supports My Possibility students. Profits generated will help fund My Possibilities’ nonprofit work.

    • Howdy Homemade, which aims to employ individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, providing them with the opportunity to learn valuable skills behind the counter, will be serving a selection of their delicious ice cream.

“Our nonprofit partners have been key connectors for Dwell with Dignity by referring us to families, providing wraparound services to help our families continue to thrive, being champions of our work, and more. Through this, we know that if nonprofits work together we can accomplish much more and have an even greater impact on the community,” said Ashley Sharp, executive director at Dwell with Dignity. “This is why we’re excited to launch the Social Impact Marketplace to invite local nonprofits to Thrift Studio, connect them with socially conscious shoppers, and help them gain the capital they need to provide their services to the North Texas community.”

At Thrift Studio, shoppers will find stunning vignettes curated by leading designers, showrooms, and retailers, showcasing the donated high-end furniture and home decor pieces available for purchase at significant discounts. All proceeds will benefit Dwell with Dignity’s mission of transforming lives through design. This year, the designers selected include Burkle Creative, Hayslip Design, Jena Salmon, Kristin Mullen, Lark Interiors, The Loveliest Home, ML Interiors Group, Peacock Alley, and Scout Design Studio. Thrift Studio also curates original works of art donated by local artists, and this year, they’ll showcase over 65 pieces that will be available for purchase during the pop-up.

Since the concept launched in Dallas in 2011, the event has grown into a highly anticipated and can’t-miss philanthropic event for Dwell with Dignity supporters, the interior design community, and the general public looking for a fabulous deal on home furnishings. The event brings in one-third of the operating revenue that allows the non-profit organization to change lives through design by bringing transformational interior design services to those who can afford it the least.
