MISSION MOMENT
Volunteers Paying it Forward

We love having past DwD families in the studio to volunteer! Jari from DwD’s first Habitat for Humanity partnership was in the warehouse this week helping work on projects for an upcoming family home transformation.

COMMUNITY PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
DwD + Lincoln High School

Dwell with Dignity is thrilled to work with United Way of Dallas to transform Lincoln High School’s Community Resource Center and utilize the space to provide a number of resources to the school’s nearly 700 students, their parents, and community members in South Dallas.

Dwell with Dignity designed the Community Resource Center to create a functional area for events and activities for students and the community that includes:

  • A community room with a library built in partnership with the Dallas Public Library with books for all ages, five computers, two printers, and flexible seating for group meetings or classes

  • Resources for the community, which include uniforms, food, feminine hygiene products, and more

  • A private room and office to be used for counseling and meetings with students, parents, and teachers

  • A teachers’ lounge with a coffee and tea bar, comfortable seating for relaxation, and flexible tables for meetings

  • A mural by South Dallas artist Ebony Lewis, whose public art installations are showcased at the Park South Family YMCA and nearby DART bus shelter

SPECIAL THANK YOU:
Kimberly Clark donated 288 boxes of tissues
Dallas Public Library donated 800 books
Texas Counter Fitters donated stone countertops
