When it comes to gray, I think it is fair to say I’m having a love affair. And who isn’t nowadays?! We’ve even coined a new word – ‘greige’ as many refer to their favorite warm + pale shade. There are many different neutral pairings that work well together, but my favorite is the combination of gray + white + wood. It can be warm and inviting, or bold and contrasting – there is a wide range of options within this simple pallet.
Don’t get me wrong, I love color – in my food, in my photographs, in my closet – but when it comes to my house I am a little…noncommittal? However, I’ve come to realize that you can never go wrong with neutrals.
So for those of us who may change our style ever year, season, or mood, neutrals carried throughout an entire room, or home, can be quite beautiful on their own as well save you money on redecorating costs! You can always add accents of color and change them out frequently to keep your space feeling fresh and current. And although it may not be for everyone, a neutral pallet does not have to be boring, as it makes way to experiment and emphasize other elements like pattern and texture, or draw attention to a key item of color or special piece of art.
